Procurement
About this project
The purpose of this project is to widen customer engagement beyond service improvement to include policy, budgeting, procurement, and contract monitoring. It also reviews social value commitments so future activity reflects local priorities.
This project aims to give customers a stronger voice in shaping services and your feedback will help us understand what good service looks like from a customer perspective. It can influence service standards, tender requirements and evaluation criteria which then supports the social value commitments we ask contractors to deliver.
Together, we can align services and contractor commitments with local priorities and create clearer, more visible community benefits.
Get involved:
The procurement group will be an evolving on going group and although no experience in procurement is needed (as training will be supplied) to get involved we will be asking customer to commit to a long term group which will need to meet face to face (this may be a combination of day or evening meetings) given the nature of the project and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) rules. Here are some of the topics you may get involved with:
- Share your views through a focus group and pre-procurement engagement activities.
- Help define the service standards and expectations that should be included in tender documents.
- Take part in customer groups for customer-facing contracts.
- Contribute to bid assessments using customer experience criteria.
- Join interviews, presentations or site visits where customer input would add value
Support for participants
Due to the nature of this project formal training will be given to you that will support you to take part confidently in procurement, evaluation, and contract monitoring activity. This will take shape in a face to face setting for approximately 4 hours and will be delivered by the Head of the Procurement team. We aim for this training to commence early July.
Thank you to all that attended the training, the group is now set for the next sages and the charges commence.
After the training you will then have your first session, this will be around 3 hours and will take place face to face.
