Become an Engaged Customer – Training and support with Citizen Housing

We want to help you feel confident when you share your views and ideas. By taking part in training, you can learn new skills, meet other customers, and pick up useful tips for everyday life.

We also want to offer chances to get involved in volunteering, learning, and job opportunities. This includes helping you build the skills you need to ask questions, challenge us, and help improve our services.


We Can Support You With:

Join us online or in person to learn skills that help you feel confident and ready to share your views. We can support you with:

  • Voicing your feedback in a calm and clear way
  • Taking part in discussions, even when there is disagreement
  • Building confidence to speak in groups
  • Understanding housing information, data and feedback
  • Sharing your ideas with others
  • Working together with other residents
  • Taking part in Scrutiny and customer panels
  • Understanding how decisions are made in social housing
  • Feeling prepared for focus groups and meetings

Our training is designed to help you feel heard, respected, and comfortable when sharing your views. We want to support you to grow your skills, take part in conversations, and become an engaged customer in a way that feels right for you.


Training Opportunities for You

TPAS – Training and Support for Residents

TPAS is a national organisation that helps social housing residents build confidence, learn new skills, and get more involved in shaping their homes and communities. They offer training on how Scrutiny works, how to work with your neighbourhood, and how to build strong and active community groups. These sessions are ideal for tenants, residents, and independent resident groups with two or more members.

Because Citizen is a TPAS member, you can join TPAS for free. Simply visit the TPAS website, choose “Join as a Resident,” enter Citizen Housing as your landlord, and complete the short form. Your account will then be created at no cost.

Four Million Homes is a national programme that helps social housing residents understand their rights, build confidence, and learn how to speak up about issues in their home or community.
It offers free training, videos, guides and webinars designed especially for tenants and residents across England.

These include our Jargon Buster, which explains housing words in simple language, and our Quick Skills Boosters, which give easy tips for speaking up and joining group sessions. We have also shared links to helpful videos and other pages you may find useful. You can use these at any time and choose the ones that work best for you.
