Home ownership Group

We would like our home owners to help us improve the services we provide.

With this in mind we have created this dedicated page where home owners, leaseholders and shared ownership customers can share, comment and connect with each other through our:

Home Ownership Group - We will organise group discussions via Teams to gather information, ideas, suggestions and feedback from you. These meetings will have a topic already agreed from previous meeting by customers and we will invite you to join. If the subject matter doesn't interest you don't worry.

If this is something you would like to get involved with then click the link below and become a member.

News Feed - we'll update you here on what's happening.

Question section - Here you can post a question and we'll try to answer it, pop it in there if we can't then we'll find out who can and connect you together.

Forum - Make suggestions, leave a comment, chat to other home owners.

It been a busy year for Citizen and after our meeting in February our homeowners gave great feedback and a lot for citizen to think about. We discussed related topics below.

  1. Customer Experience
  2. Website development
  3. Responsibilities

Following the feedback given, we have listened to you and we're making changes. Please see our news feed below.

Citizen have also gathered feedback through our Tenancy Satisfaction Measures ( TSMs) These TSMs were introduced by the Regulator of Social Housing to measure how well social landlords like Citizen are delivering services. They tell us what you, our customers think about the services that we provide to all. If you would like to see the results then click on the link Tenancy Satisfaction Measures opposite.

We hope to make this page an immersion of constant information and ideas. We’d really like you to have registered to be able to keep up to date with latest developments and contributions, so don't forget to click and register here to ensure you can share, comment and connect so we can hear you.

We are always happy to hear from you about what matters to you the most. If you have a topic that you would like to talk about then please e-mail us on engagement@citizenhousing.org.uk

Thank you

  • Leaseholder Shared Owner update

All leaseholders and shared owners, should by know of received a letter, which provides the Leasehold Officer name for every customer individually explaining what they do and how customers can report issues (including repairs) and where someone else other than the Leasehold Officer may respond.

We know have two Leasehold Officers managing purely shared ownership homes, four manages “Outright leasehold”. Previously the six officers managed a mix of both. We have done this to try and provide a more specialist services to both Leaseholders and Shared owners, as there are some differences in responsibilities and expectations. The shared ownership “team” will lead on delivering many of the shared ownership recommendations made by the scrutiny group.

Website – the aim is to have a new website launched in August – We are working very hard behind the scenes on the design, structure and content. This will have dedicated individual separate sections for both leaseholders and shared owners. Whilst this is very much work in progress we believe this will be a big improvement on what we have now. This has been with the help of a group of customers. We intend to add and refine content once the website is up and running, and will be seeking home owners views on how we improve, what customer would like to see etc…

We have now issued two electronic newsletters where the content is specific for leaseholders and shared owners. Previously a general newsletter was issues to all customers, and some of the “Tenant” focused articles were of less interest to shared owners. The first one covered lease extensions, the second one “buildings insurance”, based on the fact we get a lot of questions around these subjects. We have a forward plan of articles for around the next 9 months, again we would welcome idea’s of what you would like to know more about. What is included is flexible.

  • Meeting outcomes, actions and progress.

You'll find our minutes from the focus group meeting attached and we'll share updates on progress of any outcomes and actions here.

14.04.25 - I've linked some useful information documents today, hoping they will provide you a little clarity on who does what and who to contact if you have any queries.
